Programs of Instruction:

PeePods  Ages 3-4

This program is designed to fulfill the needs of the 3-4 year old child.  While the physical techniques of TaeKwonDo are taught, emphasis is placed upon the improvement of balance, coordination, and fine and gross motor skills.  Classes are fun and fast-paced, yet structured and disciplined.  Each class is 35 minutes.

PeeWees   Ages 4 to 6

This program is designed especially for the needs of 4-5 year old children.  Classes are fun, with emphasis placed upon your child’s development of self-discipline, respect for self and others, focus, and self-confidence.  Each 40-minute class includes Taekwondo-related drills and games developed to teach your child the basic blocks, kicks, punches, and stances of the Martial Art.  Emphasis is placed upon the teaching of the proper time and place to use these newly-acquired skills.

Children   Ages 6-11

For children in the age range of 6-11, the heart of the program remains the tenets of Taekwondo:  focus; respect; discipline; loyalty, and self-confidence.  At this age group, there is an added emphasis on physical conditioning and peer interaction.  We teach all levels of  Taekwondo techniques, from White Belt basics to Black Belt aerial kicks, from traditional basics and forms to Olympic-style sparring and self-defense.  Students are  expected to give “100%” in each class.  Promotion tests are offered approximately every three months.  Prior to testing, students are required to show that they are in good academic standing, have attended an appropriate number of Taekwondo classes, and must receive an instructor’s permission.  Testing requirements are available in the Dojang.

Adults   Ages 12 and older

For students ages 13 and older, there is an increased emphasis on physical fitness, with extensive stretching and aerobic conditioning.   Physical limitations are respected, but challenged.  The Adult Program helps our students, at whatever stage in life they may be, to better    deal with the daily stress that we all face.  Classes are enjoyable, yet serious.  Students learn greater self-discipline and gain greater self-confidence and self-esteem.  All levels of techniques are taught, from White Belt basics to dynamic, aerial Back Belt kicks, from  traditional basics and forms, to Olympic-style sparring and modern self-defense.  Promotion tests are offered approximately every three months.  Adult students are afforded the responsibility to decide whether or not they believe they are ready to test.  Testing requirements are available in the Dojang.
